I'm considering ordering another because I saw that sale as well. Sights seem to be a hit and miss from my personal experience but it does have the saddle so adding a red dot or something along those lines wouldn't be hard or very expensive.
If I buy one of these, it'll get muddy and knocked around so the finish on the stock won't be as important to me. It'll still be nice to get something finished well, but if something has to give in order to get the price down I can live with a crumby looking stock. I like mine overall, the front sight on mine has a pretty bad cant that I have yet to fix so it shoots high and to the left. It can not be remedied by adjusting the sights, I'm going to have to move the front sight base.
My bipod will not hook to the cleaning rod, not sure if it's supposed to. It wobbles back and forth so I took a piece of wire and have it wrapped around the bipod and the cleaning rod to keep it in place. I did replace the slant cut brake with a muzzle nut as I think it looks better.
Freya weeps upon her golden throne. How long ago did you buy yours? I had one that was about as good as an AK type can get.
I put a real issue Romanians bipod and East German windage adjustable rear sight on it and stained and finished the wood. It was easily the most accurate AK I've had out of all of them I've owned, even before I upgraded it. It was heavy though.
